updating phpbb

a new update for phpbb's come out and i'm going to go ahead with installing it. this sort of thing is out of my wheelhouse so frankly i have no idea if it's gonna wipe the site or something, but that's pretty unlikely. in the off chance me updating this wrecks the whole place, i have a backup ready! so really i don't know why i'm typing this at all i mean do people even check the forum these days?
