Let's Talk Fic

The year is 2022. Cringe is dead, and if it isn't dead yet, we are about to intentionally kill it.
And with the grand funeral for cringe itself, people are finally talking about fanfiction on main.
Let's get some discussion happening! What fics are you reading? What fics are you writing?! What fandoms do you like reading fic for, what fandoms can you absolutely not stand reading fic for.
I'll start - I've been reading the Seire Kari, Horrible Goose Jedi series over on AO3. It follows about half a dozen fics by the same author featuring Seire Kari, their Jedi OC, as they take out ol' Sheev's plans mostly by accident. It's pretty cathartic each time, but the cool thing about the fic series is how each entry builds up on top of the worldbuilding/lore of the prior ones. Learn about a Mandalorian father figure to Seire in one fic? That character will show up again in the next, and you're expected to just know about them. Meet a specific clone medic in one fic? They've got that job in the other ones, now, too. It's pretty fascinating stuff, and there's SO MUCH of it out there. And it's still updating! The newest fic is a direct sequel to the last fic in the series, so it's not linked directly in the main page.
Anyway. Other fics I keep coming back to are the Animorphs fic The Partner by friend of mine K800, and the Final Fantasy 7 time travel fic Top Guide (In This Town) by Kieron_ODuibhir, which has a lovely dedication to game-accurate physics and worldbuilding. Did you know that FF7 time travel fic is a HUGE subgenre? I had no idea until I fell deeeep into the rabbit hole.
What fics have you been reading? What are your guilty pleasures? What are your not-so-guilty pleasures? (Maybe we should save "what have you been writing" for a different thread, lol.)
